Memorial School News

We had a great week with the Drum Lady, Anne Poirier… just ask the students. It was a joy seeing all of the students participating.  The third and fourth graders performed for the first and second graders as well as for their parents last Friday. They did an awesome job!   Anne used stability balls, round laundry baskets, and drumsticks to teach students rhythm sequences and eventually added music and movement. It was a rich experience integrating music and physical education.

Players from the Monarch’s team read to our first and second graders on Thursday afternoon … the children were a great audience and they were excited about getting autographs from the players.

Congratulations to Memorial School Spelling Bee Champion Sunny K. and Runner-Up Ryan O. Sunny will represent Bedford at the State Bee at the end of February. Great job!

We are excited to have the Drum Lady, Anne Poirier, with us this week. She is working with grades 1 - 4 through the week. Please join us on Thursday, January 14th at McKelvie Intermediate School for our winter chorus concert. The concert begins at 7:00pm in the cafeteria at McKelvie. Students that are in the performance need to arrive at McKelvie by 6:40pm.
