Annual "Stuff the Turkey" Food Drive

November is our Month of Kindness and Gratitude.  One way we would like to practice these important traits is by sponsoring our annual food drive.  From November 18th to December 21st,  Memorial School will be conducting a non-perishable "Stuff the Turkey" Food Drive.    We are especially excited this year since, for the first time, our proceeds will go directly to a Bedford pantry, with the purpose of serving Bedford families. We have the unique opportunity of helping the newly created Food Pantry at Presbyterian Church, which plans to open for the upcoming holiday season. (Once a location outside of the church is found, the pantry will become the Bedford Community Food Pantry.)   We will greatly appreciate any donations you are able to give, to get the pantry started. Items such as canned proteins (meats, fish, vegetables, etc.), pasta, peanut butter, jelly, rice, flour, sugar and cereal are especially needed.  If you would like to join us in helping our new Bedford pa

Harlem Globetrotters Visited Today

Image
Firefly, from the Harlem Globetrotters, came to visit the 3rd and 4th grade students today to discuss bullying and to share some cool basketball tricks. Here are some photos of the event.

Great Day for Parades

Our students had a great day dressing up today. Grade 4 paraded their scarecrows through the school and Kindergarten showed off their costumes to their schoolmates. Grade 3 took pumpkins and joy to the people at the Laurel Center this afternoon. It was a beautiful day. Please click here to see some of the pictures from today.  Special thanks to all of the parent volunteers that took time to help out today and to all the ones who helped decorate our school.

Change in Parking

Memorial School has used the area in front of the school, adjacent to the road, for the past few years for parking though it has never been an official parking area. The town will be putting a curb there and ultimately a sidewalk. The town began hydro-seeding the area this morning.  The good news is that it will provide a safe area for people to walk. The BAD news is that as of today, Tuesday, October 13th, we will no longer be able to park adjacent to the road.  We will keep most of the marked spaces out in the front open for parents to park and look at parent pick-up at the end of the day to determine what alternatives we have.

Chorus Reminder

Just a quick reminder that chorus is on Thursdays and it ends at 3:00

The donations can be sent in with students and placed in the bins which will line the front hallway of our school. Some of the most needed items at the shelter include: ·         Plain chicken or turkey baby food (for kittens) ·         Kitten food (both canned and dry) ·         Adult dog food canned and dry (Iams, Purina One, Pedigree, etc.) ·         Clay cat litter ·         Laundry detergent, high efficiency ·         Hand Sanitizer ·         Toilet Paper ·         Disposable Non-Latex Gloves ·         Gift cards to any pet store We will also be displaying pictures, stories, and drawings of students and t
